Es wurde vom amerikanischen Finanzmarktanalysten Ralph Nelson Elliott im Jahr 1938 entwickelt. Elliott fand heraus, dass Finanzm\u00e4rkte dazu neigen, sich in einem bestimmten Muster zu bewegen, das er als \u201eWellenmuster\u201c bezeichnete.
