Here we go again: the Westflügel’s programme returns with the Summer Festival Special, a Lambe-Lambe Festival. A box, curious spectators and, hidden away, an entire theatre in miniature: For the second time, the Westflügel’s Summer Festival is dedicated to the Lambe-Lambe boxes. Artists from a wide variety of backgrounds are setting out to perform their highly personalised short stories in Leipzig. It’s a real test of endurance.

Every 3 to 5 minutes, it’s back to the start, a new audience, and on it goes for many hours, so that as many people as possible can enjoy the stories. And the audience has to get involved too.

You can buy a book of six stamped tickets, which you can then ‘work through’! That means waiting, lots of anticipation and, for those with staying power, a second round. Who hasn’t had one yet and wants more!?

As well as the expected 20 to 25 Lambe-Lambe boxes, there will be puppet theatre performances indoors and outdoors, the usual games, entertainment and street food, whilst the West Wing
will be offering a glimpse into its renovation plans.

Joining us with their miniature theatres are:
Omayra Martínez Garzón [Argentina/Colombia]
Lempen Puppet Theatre [UK]
Paulette San Martín [Catalonia]
Katarína Caková [Slovakia/Czech Republic]
Tangram Kollektiv [Stuttgart/Leipzig/Berlin]
Blickkisten [Cologne/Würzburg]
LeckiLecki Kolleki [Leipzig/Wales]
Michael Vogel [Leipzig]
Stefan Wenzel [Leipzig]
Barbara Steinitz [Berlin]
Steffi Günther [Bochum]
Jo Posenenske [Leipzig]
Eva Vinke [Leipzig]
and brave participants in a Lambe-Lambe workshop held beforehand.

Further programme / Puppet theatre:

3.00 pm and 4.30 pm ‘Rotz & Wasser’, Lehmann, Wenzel and Ulrike Kley, for everyone aged 4 and over (in the Westflügel Hall). With plenty of water and a pinch of salt, the puppeteers set out in search of the treasure hidden in every tear shed.

5.30 pm “Sonst noch Wünsche”, flunker produktionen, for everyone aged 5 and over (street stage). Two delightfully shady scoundrels fulfil their greatest wish: to be wish-fulfillers, and in doing so find their way into the depths of the audience’s innermost desires.

9.00 pm ‘Schnitzel of love’, Stefanie Oberhoff feat. Tomy Suil (street stage). Heartbreak is transformed into positive energy. In the piping-hot oil of a frying pan, a schnitzel sings the praises of anticipation for its own reincarnation.
