On Saturday 15 August, ‘Mirandolina’ – this year’s summer theatre production by Kulturwerkstatt KAOS – will have its premiere. This production of the play by the Italian comedy writer Carlo Goldoni is being staged in collaboration with the European Theatre Institute e.V. Acting School Berlin. The comedy, which premiered in 1752, will be performed a total of six times on the terrace of the old villa at
Wasserstraße 18.
Following her father’s death, the self-assured and indomitable Mirandolina has taken over her father’s thriving inn – including the waiter Fabrizio. Quick-witted and self-determined, she holds her own in a man’s world, whose representatives – self-absorbed and stuck in the past – vie for her favour. Only the self-proclaimed misogynist, the Knight of Ripafratta, wants nothing to do with her. As an equal opponent, he becomes the target of Mirandolina’s audacious game. A turbulent open-air comedy featuring a heroine who has no time for saviours …
