In the 2025 financial year, the Leipziger Messe Group recorded more than 1.05 million visitors from 72 countries. The exhibition company announced this on Tuesday, 30 June. The high demand underlines the appeal of its events portfolio and the importance of face-to-face interactions.

With 193 events, 10,925 exhibitors and consolidated turnover of 109.1 million euros, Leipziger Messe consolidated its position above the 100 million euro annual turnover mark.

For the twelfth year running, the group was also recognised as the ‘Service Champion’ of the German trade fair industry. The subsidiaries FAIRNET, fairgourmet, Leipziger Messe Gastveranstaltungen, Leipziger Messe International and MAXiCOM made a significant contribution to this business success.

“More than one million visitors from 72 countries demonstrate the importance of face-to-face encounters, particularly in economically and politically challenging times. Leipziger Messe brings people together, creates space for new ideas and fosters exchange across industry and national boundaries. It is therefore a key driving force for business, science and society in Leipzig, Saxony and Central Germany,” explained Martin Buhl-Wagner, Managing Director of Leipziger Messe, on Tuesday.

And Managing Director Markus Geisenberger added: “In a challenging environment, Leipziger Messe achieved the second-highest turnover in the company’s history, at 109.1 million euros. Our trade and public fairs, our conferences and our services were in high demand. 2025 was a very successful year for Leipzig as an international trade fair and conference venue.”

New events strengthen Leipzig as a venue

Leipziger Messe has, in the management’s view, also established itself as a capable partner for major international sporting events. It already provided the central infrastructure and extensive services for UEFA EURO 2024.

The group further expanded this expertise with the International German Gymnastics Festival and the 2025 European Gymnastics Championships, as well as the Fan Festival for the 2026 UEFA Conference League final. The exhibition centre is earmarked as a competition venue as part of BERLIN, Berlin’s bid for the future Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Leipzig Trade Fair has purposefully expanded its portfolio for 2025 and secured further national and international event formats for the Leipzig venue on a long-term basis. These include the acquisition of DIAM & DDM, new hosted events such as Solar Solutions Leipzig and the immocation Festival, as well as long-term commitments for congresses such as the German Röntgen Congress and the ‘You can!’ specialist congress from 2026 onwards, and the Apimondia World Beekeeping Congress in 2029.

Investments in infrastructure, digitalisation and energy efficiency ensure the long-term competitiveness of the Leipzig exhibition centre. In 2025, Leipziger Messe published its first externally audited sustainability report in accordance with the DNK standard, received certification to DIN EN ISO 50001 and was once again awarded the Green Globe Platinum certificate.

At the same time, the company invested in modernising its infrastructure and digital services. Furthermore, Leipziger Messe is planning to amend the development plan. This is intended to create further, flexible usage options on the exhibition grounds.

According to the trade fair management, the 2025 financial year confirmed Leipziger Messe’s strategic direction. At the same time, the first half of 2026 continued the positive trend of the previous year, with high capacity utilisation, strong visitor and exhibitor numbers, and significant international participation.
