“In recent weeks, many leisure activities have had to be cancelled due to the coronavirus safety measures. With the drive-in cinema, we’re offering an attractive way to spend the evening. The programme combines the Porsche Experience with a cosy film night under the open sky,” says Jens Walther, Head of Sales and Marketing at Porsche Leipzig GmbH.
In keeping with the cinema theme, vehicles that have featured in famous films will also be on display during this period. These include, amongst others, the Porsche 991 Carrera 4S, which appeared in the film “Bad Boys For Life”.
The drive-in cinema on the Porsche Leipzig circuit will run until mid-July. The film programme varies daily. Drinks and snacks are available on site. Tickets cost €12.50 per person when attending in your own vehicle.
There is also the option to book a guided drive around the Porsche Leipzig circuit in your own car, in addition to the drive-in cinema experience. For a truly special drive-in cinema experience, you can enjoy the film in a Porsche, optionally combined with a sports car driving experience on the circuit.
Tickets are on sale online at www.roadmovies-leipzig.de. The drive-in cinema is a collaborative project between the event agency koslik&friends GmbH and Porsche Leipzig GmbH.
A highlight of the programme is ‘Klassik airleben im Stream’ on Saturday 27 June 2020. Tickets for this event will be allocated exclusively via a prize draw. The competition on Porsche Leipzig’s social media channels will launch early next week. Porsche has been a partner of the Gewandhaus Orchestra since 2011; since 2014, a key focus of this partnership has been the “Klassik airleben” concert series.
Due to coronavirus safety measures, the event cannot take place in the Rosental as usual this year. A ‘best of’ compilation from previous years will therefore be streamed on 27 June. Visitors can enjoy this in a special atmosphere at the Porsche Leipzig drive-in cinema.
The customer centre, also known as the ‘Diamant’ due to its distinctive shape, is the centrepiece of the Porsche Experience Centre at the Leipzig site. More than 40,000 guests from all over the world are welcomed here every year – including those collecting their cars, visitors and event participants. The various driving experience programmes are particularly popular.
Eleven bends from world-renowned race tracks have been recreated here – the ‘Loews Bend’ from Monaco, the ‘Corkscrew’ from Laguna Seca, the ‘Suzuka S’ from the race track of the same name in Japan, and the ‘Parabolica’ from Monza.
