Home schooling on Wednesday due to a possible threat

A possible threat against the Ihmelsstraße campus means that the Hope-Adams-Schule grammar school and the secondary school there will remain closed tomorrow. This is reported by the Leipziger Volkszeitung.

Parents were reportedly informed today. No details are currently available regarding the exact circumstances, but it is not currently believed to be a serious threat. The closure of the schools on Wednesday is said to be a decision taken by the school itself and a precautionary measure. Pupils are to complete their assignments temporarily via home-based learning and then return to their normal school routine with special support.

The Ihmelsstraße Campus, a new educational hub, had only opened in June 2024; it brings together a grammar school, a secondary school, a community centre and sports halls under one roof. Learning and community engagement are closely intertwined here.

Witnesses sought following accident in Schönefeld-Abtnaundorf

Following an accident in Schönefeld-Abtnaundorf in which a motorcyclist was injured, the Leipzig Police Headquarters (PD) has today officially launched an appeal for witnesses. According to PD spokesperson Paul Engelmann, a Harley Davidson and a Škoda Octavia collided side-on at around 4.55 pm on Rackwitzer Straße, between Am Gothischen Bad and Berliner Straße.

Information is now being sought to clarify the exact circumstances of the accident. The appeal is directed in particular at drivers who were behind the vehicles involved at the time of the accident and who provided first aid.
