For the second time, visual artist and fashion designer Lia Bach (stage name) will be visiting the still relatively new Café Il Mago at 51 Georg-Schumann-Straße on Friday 2 October. A native of Munich, she studied fashion design in Paris and Hamburg; she is the mother of two children and also runs a high-street shop in Munich city centre. The 31-year-old primarily designs stylish women’s fashion made from high-quality materials, as well as Fair Trade clothing with character.

In her visual art, which will be on display at Café Il Mago from 2 October, Lia Bach navigates the tension between floral impressionism and existential expression. Her motto: “Making the soul visible”.

Many guests at the Il Mago experience café are already familiar with the Munich-based artist from the ‘Night of Art’ event.

Owner and manager Tamás Magó invites all art lovers to the opening this coming Friday, 2 October, from 5.00 pm. Free admission, with a glass of sparkling wine to welcome you.

The exhibition runs until 22 October.

Café Il Mago

Café Il Mago
was designed as a space to create a creative and aesthetic environment that enables open-minded people to exchange ideas. It’s certainly something of a rarity on Georg-Schumann-Straße.

The café even has its own manifesto, which states, amongst other things: ‘This space was designed to create a creative and aesthetic environment that enables open-minded people to exchange ideas. On the one hand, to broaden their own horizons and not just to listen to others, but to really take notice. Often, there is more hidden in what is said than is immediately understood.

A communal space around the central round table offers a constantly interesting opportunity to make new contacts and network.

Children are also welcome; we can learn from their unadulterated perception to remember what our dreams were – and secretly still are. A dedicated area has been created for them, one that suits their needs and can stimulate their imagination.

We do not see ourselves as a café in the usual sense, but aim to offer something different from the standard fare. For this reason, we do not serve machine-made coffee and tea, but brew them by hand and serve them with care.”

You simply have to give it a go.
