Scooter rider crashes in Connewitz
On Wolfgang-Heinze-Straße, not far from the Connewitzer Kreuz junction, a person fell from a scooter on Thursday afternoon and sustained minor injuries. This was reported by the Leipziger Volkszeitung.
According to the report, the incident occurred at around 3.00 pm when the rider’s scooter ran into the tram tracks, causing them to fall. An ambulance arrived to treat the victim, and the fire brigade was also called in to deal with the spilled fuel.
The section of road between Selneckerstraße and Auerbachstraße was temporarily closed.
Night-time fire involving an enforcement trailer: police investigating
Police and the fire brigade were called out during the night to deal with a fire involving a mobile speed camera in Leipzig-Thekla. Witnesses reported a fire shortly after 3.00 am at a so-called enforcement trailer – a mobile speed camera – according to police spokeswoman Melanie Roeber. A burning tyre was discovered on one side of the trailer on Wodanstraße. Crews from the North-East Fire Brigade extinguished the fire.
The trailer’s cladding and one of its tyres were damaged by the flames; the property damage is estimated at 3,000 euros. The South-East Police Station has taken over the investigation into the damage to property caused by the fire.
